Top 5 Wednesday: Fictional Places I'd Take A Date

Hi everyone! Welcome to Nox Reads, I'm "Nox", and it's Wednesday my dudes (I apologize for the cringe that I have just started), which means I have a post! Today's Top 5 Wednesday prompt is  Fictional Places I'd Take A Date , which means you get to hear my ramble on about how beautiful these places are. Let's begin! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1. Cabeswater from The Raven Cycle series by Maggie Stiefvater "Oh wow, Nox is talking about the Raven Cycle series. I'm so surprised!" - no one ever Cabeswater is a magical place though! It's gorgeous, with fish that change color depending on your thoughts, trees that speak Latin, and you can walk through the year. Also, if Ronan Lynch can take his date there then dang it, so can I! 2. Hogsmeade from The Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling "Oh wow, Nox is talking about Harry Potter. I'm

True Dreamer Tag! #dreamerbooktour

Hey everyone! Welcome to Nox Reads, I'm "Nox", and I am so excited to share with you an  original  book tag inspired by  Dreamer  by Ja-Mel Vinson! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I have been fortunate enough to participate in the Dreamer Blog Tour ( #dreamerbooktour  on Twitter), and I will be linking a playlist inspired by the book, and later today I will also be posting my review! I know that not everyone has been able to read the book yet, so have no fears, there are no spoilers in this tag! I tried to keep all of the questions inspired by things mentioned in the first four chapters. These are merely inspired by characters, objects, or awesome quotes- so let's begin! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1. Maya (the True Dreamer) - If you were a protagonist, what genre would yo

Book Ramble - Dreamer [SPOILER-FREE] #dreamerblogtour

Hi everyone! Welcome to Nox Reads, I'm "Nox", and  Dreamer  by Ja-Mel Vinson is a  PROBABLY WILL REREAD , due to numerous gorgeous descriptions and an amazing premise! "After several failed attempts at staying afloat, my eyes slipped closed as I dipped below the light's surface." I'm so excited to be participating in the Dreamer Blog Tour ( #dreamerblogtour on Twitter )! Earlier, I posted an  original  book tag inspired by elements of  Dreamer  (you can find  the True Dreamer Tag here! ) Dreamer  is being released on March 19, so this will be an entirely spoiler-free ramble! I'll mainly be covering what I thought of the story and the characters. With that in mind, let's begin! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Maya Lilac, the protagonist of  Dreamer , is starting college at D.R.E.A.M. Academy when she discovers that she is the True Dreamer,

Top 5 Wednesday: Love Interests I Would've Broken Up With

Hello everyone! Welcome to Nox Reads, I'm "Nox", and today's prompt for Top 5 Wednesday is  Love Interests I Would've Broken Up With , which means that I get to rant about how much I  hate  these characters and relationships! This is going to be fun... -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1. The Darkling from the  Shadow and Bone  trilogy by Leigh Bardugo I'm in a group chat (shoutout to Nik Nak is a Snik Snak) where everyone is doing a Grishaverse buddy read (some of us are starting  King of Scars  today), and there are a lot of moments where I open the chat to see everyone fawning over the Darkling, but I  just don't get it!  The Darkling is manipulative, and the few interactions that he does have with Alina  (before everything goes sideways) just move too fast. Sorry Darkling, but I am not the Sun Summoner you're looking for. 2. Edward Cullen from the  Twilig

Book Ramble - Crooked Kingdom [SPOILERS ONLY]

Hello everyone! Welcome to Nox Reads, I'm "Nox", and I'm still crying over  Crooked Kingdom  by Leigh Bardugo, definitely a  DESERVES ALL THE HYPE! "I can't believe we broke out of the Ice Court but we're trapped in our own town." TRIGGER WARNING: Graphic Violence, Death, Mentions of Slavery, Mentions of Sex Trafficking, Emotional Abuse REPRESENTATION: POC, LGBTQ+, Plus-Size, PTSD, Disabled Character -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Welcome to my book ramble or as I like to call it, "Matthias Helvar was too precious and deserved so much better" ft. "Wesper makes my frozen heart melt". I'd like to thank Kait from  Kaitlyn's Cozy Reading Corner  ( @sixcrowsbooks on Twitter ) for loving this book so much that I finally picked it up. It was amazing and looking back at it, it was heartbreaking. So thanks Kait, because I  tot

Top 5 "Wednesday" (Thursday): Independent Ladies

Hi everyone! Welcome to Nox Reads, I'm "Nox", and since today is Single Awareness Day, yesterday's prompt was discussing female characters whose plots didn't rely on romance. This doesn't mean that they didn't have any romance at all, but it wasn't their only/main storyline. I'm posting this a day later because I spent yesterday with my mom, cousin, and aunt for Galentine's...here's the post! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1.  Blue Sargent from the Raven Cycle series by Maggie Stiefvater Look, the synopsis for  The Raven Boys  misled me  sooooo  much! Yes, love does play an important role in Blue's story (she is destined to kill her true love if she ever kisses him), but there is so much that happens in the story that it honestly takes a bit of a backseat. It's important, but it isn't the only thi

Discussion: Too Many Buddy Reads and Reading Challenges?

Hello everyone! Welcome to Nox Reads, I'm "Nox", and today I wanted to have a discussion with you all on buddy reads! Yes, my title is complete clickbait but I honestly couldn't think of how else to phrase it. So we're only eleven days into February and I've already read three books this month, and considering I only read four in January, I'm quite proud of myself! And recently I've joined the  Pride Over Prejudice  Discord server, which is dedicated to sharing different buddy reads, so I've joined a couple of those as well! I am  also  participating in Jenna ( @jennastopreading  on Instagram)'s  #murdermondaybookclub , which means that I'm reading the book for the month,  I'll Be Gone in the Dark  by Michelle McNamara . And I participated in  #fairytaleathon  this week (albeit, not actively).  And  as per usual I am reading for Fox and Wit's reading challenge. Also, I have  #ardentlyaustenbookclub  and #gotcatchup ( Catch Up
