Book Ramble - Stalking Jack the Ripper

Hi everyone! Welcome to Nox Reads, I'm "Nox", and this is my book ramble about  Stalking Jack the Ripper  by Kerri Maniscalco, which much to my surprise I have rated a  GET ME ALL THE MERCH! "I was determined to be both pretty and fierce, as Mother said I could be. Just because I was interested in a man's job didn't mean I had to give up being girly. Who defined those roles anyhow?" TRIGGER WARNING:  This book has a lot of mentions about death, autopsies, and gruesome murders. The way that the victims are found is incredibly detailed and gory. There is also mentions of drug addiction, poor prison conditions, and experimenting on people. Book Ramble - The Raven Boys

Hi everyone! Welcome to Nox Reads, I'm "Nox", and Maggie Stiefvater's  The Raven Boys  gave me all the feelings. This one is most definitely a  NEW FAVORITE! "She recognized the strange happiness that came from loving something without knowing why you did, the strange happiness that was sometimes so big that it felt like sadness." TRIGGER WARNING:  This book has alcohol, mentions of drugs (I think), and abuse. There are also  several  mentions of death, and there's a scene with a gun. Songs I Listened to While Writing This : Wilson (Expensive Mistakes) by Fall Out Boy; I Wanna Dance With Somebody by Fall Out Boy Before I begin, I'd like to thank Jenny, for putting up with my frantic texts as I read four hours before her sister's wedding, and my parents, for showing concern while their daughter started hitting a book against her head but accepting it all the same. If any of you think I'm joking, I'm not. I seriously started wh

The Mid Year Freak Out Tag

Hi everyone! Welcome to Nox Reads, I'm "Nox", and this is the Mid Year Freak Out Tag! Technically , we're past the mid-year point, but I still feel like doing this tag so I can reflect on what I've read so far! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1. The Best Book You've Read So Far in 2018 Illuminae  was an amazing book that I almost didn't read. When I went to the bookstore I was given a one book limit, and I was torn between  Illuminae  and  Shadow and Bone . I flipped a coin and chose to buy  Shadow and Bone  and start reading  Illuminae  while I was there, but I got so immersed in the story that I changed my mind! I'm glad I did because after binging the series, it quickly became one of my favorites! I've lent my copy to my friend and I hope he loves it just as much as I do. ----------------------------------------------------------------------

Book Ramble - A Study in Charlotte

Hi everyone! Welcome to Nox Reads, I'm "Nox", and this is my book ramble about  A Study in Charlotte by Brittany Cavallaro!  I am rating this a  GET ME ALL THE MERCH! "The two of us, we're the best kind of disaster. Apples and oranges. Well, more like apples and machetes." TRIGGER WARNING:  This book has mentions of r***, drug use, and murder. While there aren't explicit scenes detailing the first trigger, there is a character who struggles with the aftermath of it. One of the characters uses drugs and it's mentioned quite a bit in the story, and the murder is a large part of the story, and told in detail.
